ACCESS to Curricula
At the start of every school year, each Coffee County School will post the currently adopted curricula for each class on the school’s website.
The school curricula information will be linked to the Coffee County School’s district website.
If a new or revised curriculum is adopted, it will be posted on the websites within 30 calendar days.
For classes that require reading books, the teacher should include the title of the books in the course syllabus. The syllabus should be posted on the teacher’s page of the school website.
Teachers should also send a copy of the syllabus home to have it signed by the parent and returned to the teacher.
Parent Requests to Review Curricular Resources
Parents of students enrolled in Coffee County Schools may make Requests for Detailed Summaries of the following information directly to the school:
Instructional materials adopted by the local board;

Books available in the classroom for students to read
Parents may request an appointment to review curriculum materials or to request copies of non-copyright materials from their child’s school.
If a parent has more than one child in school, a separate form must be completed for each student.
School administrators will respond to the request by phone or email within a reasonable amount of time (within 10 school days).
Administrators should complete the following columns on the Coffee County Schools Curriculum Review Request Form.
Name of the person reviewing the request and
Date the request was reviewed and
The date of the parent appointment to review materials and/or
The date copies of materials were provided to the parent
Complaints and Reporting Requirements
If the parent believes the request to review curricular materials was not addressed appropriately, he/she may file a complaint with the Coffee County School Superintendent using the district’s general grievance form.
If the complaint is not addressed within ten (10) school days, the parent may file a complaint with the State Superintendent.
